Paying: flat card fee. Free: Digital payments (e.g. PayPal, UnionPay, Alipay): no processing fee is listed for departures from Australia.
- Your 7kg cabin allowance covers both bags combined. If an overweight bag is caught at the gate, you pay a gate baggage fee of up to AUD 110 (d7Fees).
- AirAsia X adds a card processing fee of AUD 10 per passenger per flight on bookings from Australia, so a return trip for two costs AUD 40 in card fees (d7Fees).
- On top of that, the fee schedule lists a Booking Service Fee of AUD 30 per passenger per booking (d7Fees).
- No AirAsia fare is refundable. Even Premium Flex only gives you two free date changes (d7Fares).
- Fees for the return flight from Kuala Lumpur are charged in ringgit at Malaysian rates, so they won't match the AUD prices (d7Fees).
