Paying: no card fee published. Free: Debit card, PayPal or personal credit card on ba.com: BA's fee (up to 2%, max AUD 60) applies only to corporate credit cards billed in Australia and some other countries.
- Basic has no checked bag at all; adding one later costs A$153 each way online, or about A$182 if you leave it to the airport (baBagCalc).
- On Basic, Standard and Select you pay to pick a seat before check-in opens 24 hours out; BA only shows seat prices inside the booking (baSeats).
- Select is refundable but BA keeps a cancellation fee it doesn't publish; only Select Pro refunds with no fee (baFares).
- BA's cancellation fee for Basic and Standard is only shown when you start cancelling in Manage My Booking (baManageFaq).
- If your trip includes a Qantas or other partner flight, the airline flying the longest leg sets the bag allowance, so these BA figures may not apply (baBaggage).
