- Economy Light comes with one checked bag, not two, and you pay to choose even a regular seat (about A$53-66 each way to Hong Kong) unless you wait for online check-in 24 hours out (cxFareFamilies)
- Every economy fare, even Flex, charges a cancellation fee and a no-show fee; CX only shows the amounts at booking (cxFareFamilies)
- Seat fees are per flight, so going on from Hong Kong to Japan or Europe means paying again for the second flight (cxSeatFees)
- Cathay members who book direct can cancel free within 24 hours of buying (cxChangeCancel)
