- Economy Special gives you only 20 kg checked and no free seat; Saver from Australia gives 30 kg, so the gap between the two is a 10 kg bag (ekBaggage).
- Flights to or from the Americas switch to counted bags: Special gets just one 23 kg bag while every other Economy fare gets two (ekBaggage).
- Paying for extra kilos at the airport costs up to USD 50 a kilo from Australia to Europe; Emirates says buying ahead online is up to 45% cheaper but only shows the price in Manage your booking (ekExtraBag).
- A regular seat costs $15 to $45 a flight on Special and Saver, but becomes free for everyone when online check-in opens 48 hours before departure (ekSeats).
- Every ticket booked since 2 April 2026 gets one free date change worldwide; you still pay any fare difference and taxes (ekBook).
