- Lufthansa doesn't fly to Australia itself: your first flight is a partner's (Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Thai and others), and Lufthansa says to ask that airline about excess-baggage charges (lhExcess, lhBagCheckin).
- The cheapest Economy Comfort fare can't be changed or refunded at all (lhFareSearch).
- Economy Comfort Plus charges A$210 to change plus any fare difference, and keeps A$570 if you cancel; even Economy Comfort Flex keeps A$290 on a refund (lhFareSearch).
- Only Economy Comfort Flex includes a seat reservation. On the other fares seats cost extra, are charged per flight, and Lufthansa publishes no prices (lhFareSearch, lhSeats, lhSeatFaq).
- If you end up on a bagless Economy Light fare, the first bag costs EUR 70-85 (about A$112-136) each way online or EUR 105 (about A$168) at check-in (lhExcess).
- Lufthansa warns some payment methods may cost extra but doesn't say which or how much (lhPayment).
