- Turkish Airlines doesn't publish how much checked baggage each fare includes from Australia, or what extra bags cost; you only see it when booking (tkFareRules, tkCheckedBag)
- On EcoFly and ExtraFly you pay to choose even a standard seat (USD15-60, about A$21-85, per flight), and a trip via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul is two flights each way; skip it and you get a random seat at check-in (tkSeatTerms)
- Bags over 158 cm (length + width + height) pay an oversize fee of USD110-150 (about A$157-214) even if they're inside your free allowance (tkCheckedBag)
- TK doesn't publish change or cancellation fees for any economy fare; they're only in the fare rules when you book, and the cheapest non-branded 'Economy Promotion' fares refund only taxes (tkFareRules)
