Paying: flat card fee. No fee-free way to pay.
- VietJet adds a convenience charge of AUD 14 per passenger per flight to every payment method on Australia routes, so a return trip costs AUD 28 each and you can't pay your way around it (vjFees).
- Eco gets 7kg of cabin baggage and nothing checked. A 20kg bag to Australia rises from about AUD 52 to AUD 63 if you buy it more than 24 hours after booking (vjFees).
- A 20kg bag bought at the airport costs about AUD 94 on Australia routes, and a bag checked at the gate costs VND 500,000 (about AUD 28) (vjFees).
- Eco and Deluxe cancellations get travel credit, not cash, minus a fee of about AUD 110 per flight on Australia routes. A cash refund to your card costs about AUD 165 per flight (vjFees).
- Deluxe on Perth flights includes only 20kg checked (one piece), not the 40kg it includes on other Australian routes (vjFareRules).
